Today, we are asking your organization to add its name to the more than 200 other member organizations of the Utah Wilderness Coalition.
Since 1985, the Utah Wilderness Coalition (UWC) has been fighting to protect Utah’s magnificent red rock country through official Wilderness designation. Utah citizens have proposed to protect over 9 million acres of wilderness quality lands on the 23 million acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands in Utah.
The fight for Utah’s wilderness continues to grow across the nation. These are America’s public lands. The UWC has successfully organized voices everywhere in support of wilderness. We must continue in this vein if we are to protect Utah’s fragile landscape.
By continually increasing the number and variety of member organizations nationally we strengthen our campaign. The level of participation in the UWC is strictly up to the member organizations. We ask only that you support the Citizens’ Proposal to designate all the splendid Utah canyon and desert country that deserves wilderness protection—no membership fee is required. To ensure that Utah’s remaining pristine lands are not lost forever; we need your help.

Membership Details
When your group joins the UWC, it:
- Allows the Coalition to use its name in our publications.
- Is invited to participate in bi-monthly Coalition meetings. If no member from your group can participate, we can email the minutes to you.
- Encourages others to take action to save Utah’s wilderness.
- Receives newsletter articles, action alerts, sample letters to the editor, and other materials you can use to educate your membership.
